두 어휘의 주요 차이는 이야기하고 있는 주제의 범위와 관련이 되어있다. 일반적으로 대화의 주제가 더 일반적일 경우, Confused about를 사용한다. 반면에 주제가 굉장히 구체적(specific)일 경우, Confused with를 사용한다.
